Xina Scuderi’s Waterscapes are speed studies of water, air, and light colliding. The images are flashing, fleeting moments frozen in the camera using completely manual techniques learned through experimentation to show movement and light in water. In the moment of each image – this artist is free, lost, escaped, focused, at peace. She hopes to bring that to her audience.
Xina closely follows weather and seasonal patterns to find her desired conditions to shoot in natural water environments. You might find her cruising the coast, racing to sunset or sunrise, chasing storms, gasping for air at the surface, getting smashed by waves, desperately trying to get shots while protecting the camera, constantly clearing the lens of splash. Find her at pretty water.
